Veska graduated Veliko Turnovo University with a degree in Bulgarian Philology, later specialized in Civil Education at Burgas Free University. She attended a number of courses on Educational Management. She holds a second class qualification at DIUU-Sofia. She has 35 years of experience as a teacher, 23 of which she taught Bulgarian language and literature and the other 12 years she was a principal of a school in Bulgaria.

She is a winner of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education "N. Rilski" award for 2001 and 2005, the honorable Rotary Club Award for 2001, the Bulgarian Teachers' Union Special Award “Teacher of the Year” for 2006 and several others.
